Heartburn Drugs – Which is right for you?

There are several ways to treat heartburn, including including natural remedies, prescription drugs, and prescription drugs. The challenge is to find what works best for you.

1. Antacids:

As its name suggests, they are "antacid" and their job is to neutralize the stomach acid that causes the problem. Brands such as Tums are antacids. If you find that you get plenty of them, then it's probably a sign of a more serious problem. So take them sparingly and keep a note how common is the use of them.

2. pump inhibitors (PPIs)

Proton pump inhibitors reduce the production of acid in the stomach. This is accomplished by "inhibition" of the enzyme in the stomach that produces acid to do its job. Accordingly, there is less acidic and therefore less heartburn, Examples of PPIs include Prevacid. PPIs are generally well received even though there may be side effects such as diarrhea, constipation or headache.

3. H2 receptor antagonists

4. CHL-related drugs
