Heartburn When Taking Prozac
Do you think my boyfriend has a problem? What do you honestly think ?
I think my boyfriend is addicted to prescription drugs. He takes Xanax and prozac every day. He takes them for anxiety and still gets horrible anxiety. Hes been taking them for years. Hes only 24 by the way. A few days ago he blacked out for a few seconds while he was getting out of the shower. He also will frequently get heartburn, extreme back pain, panic and anxiety attacks, irritable, paranoia, and sleepiness.
Im worried also because hes been missing alot of work lately. Like his early morning shifts he rarely goes since hes “too tired” but i manage to function and he gets WAY more sleep then i do. If i mention anything getting off the pills he will say things like “he needs them to function” and get mad. Or he will say he needs them because he took alot of drugs when he was younger and needs these meds now. He also has mood swings like one minute he will be all happy, and calm, and then next he will be all down and start to worry.
What do you think?
Well, I think he has a definite problem. He sounds extremely addicted. Some would call that “medically dependent,” but since he still has horrible anxiety, I don’t think he’s being treated properly. Perhaps he needs to see a psychiatrist, or if he’s already seeing one, maybe he needs a new one. The blacking out and paranoia sound like bad signs. Please encourage him to get more help. He may be bi-polar?
