Heartburn Surgery

Im sick of my heartburn, acid reflux?

and i definently dont want to take pills or whatever my whole life for it. ive considered surgery, does anyone know the risks of doing this surgery or costs? have u or know anyone had this surgery done?
i hate it so much, i might as well be smoking since acid reflux can give you throat cancer, ulcers, and on top of that to temporarily treat the pain, taking tums can cause problems in the future since they can damage the kidneys.. bleeerrrrg!

I have had Acid Reflux Disease for 5 years. The doctors exhausted all medication options and due to my heart condition, there are many medicines I can’t take. I am now taking a chalky liquid called Carafate three times a day. My gastroenterologist describes it as “a bandaid for your esophagus”. It seems to be helping. For years, I avoided diet changes and finally realized that it would make a difference if I just did what I was told. Changing my diet has definitely helped. My doctor was going to put me on a low dose antidepressant, which actually has been shown to have positive effects in people with Acid Reflux. You should see a doctor for further medication options.
