Caffeine and ulcers?

I drink a lot of coffee and soda and lately I have had terrible constant heartburn. I wake up in the middle of the night and have to chew 2-3 antacid tabs to get relief. I am staqrting to worry it’s more than just heartburn, that this is a sign of an esophageal ulcer or something. It seems to happen moreso when I drink coffee, could it be the caffeine?
