Heartburn Cancer

I have a question about cancer….?

Ok, so about 5-6 years ago my father told me he had cancer. He didn’t say what kind, and has not gone for treatment at all since because he says he cant afford it. He smokes like a chimney and drinks like a fish. He complains alot about heartburn, throwing up blood, things like that. I am curious what kind of cancer this could be, and why he isn’t just getting sicker because he isn’t treating it. Can anyone help?
I tried asking him but he wont talk about it.
I’ve told him to go to Medicaid and he says that supposedly the lady there told him he isnt eligible for it, though I’m not sure why. I called a cancer resource hotline number and got a bunch of info and doctors numbers and financial aid places for him, and he promised he would call them, but still hasnt. And when I press the issue, he says “I’ll call them soon, I promise.” But then he never does. I’m just trying to do all I can for him..

You can’t tell what kind of cancer it is by two symptoms. Why not just ask him? It’s better than guessing. He may not appear sicker, but I’m sure he is getting worse.
