Heartburn And Ulcer
![]()
What’s the age range for someone to have an ulcer?
I’m 21 years old, and I think I have an ulcer. When I look through my health book, the symptoms I relate to are: similar to heartburn and may wake you during the night. I’ve been drinking Mountain Dew a lot, and chocolate. I know both are not healthy. After too many nights of waking up with acid in the back of my throat, I’m switching to caffeine free.
ANYWAY, I never thought that I could have an ulcer, if I have one.
How old can a person get when they’re body will be able to develop ulcers?
I will not go to the doctor. I don’t have insurance. ![]()
Plus, I feel like I have heartburn during the day, too.
Well, Sweetheart, seeing that you can not consult a Dr, because you have no insurance, it was good of you to consult the health book. I would suggest watching your intake as far as caffeine (which my Health book suggests a build up of stomach acids), chocolate also has caffeine in it. Back off those treats! With your stress and your caffeine level, you maybe looking at a stomach lining problem, not disaster or unhealable, but a problem non the less. I would also would suggest taking the money you spend on caffeine and spend it on a non-prescription over the counter heartburn medication. To take after eating your evening meal. Another point to make here: if you eat a late dinner, make sure your stomach has time to digest before lying down for bed. That food is still being digested with stomach acid while you try to sleep. I would suggest eating dinner earlier in the evening on a regular basis. If that doesn’t work then try the medication before bed…read the lable to see if that is permitted. It will help to alleviate you stomach bile before you sleep. In answer to your original question: what’s the age range for someone to have an ulcer? There isn’t an age range, children get ulcers, it is an abundance of stomach acid that needs better control usually threw diet and willpower.
Good luck to you!
