Could it be heart related or am I just cuckoo?

I have been having chest pains since I took a college class that was very stressful. Since then I have had chest pains and/or chest discomfort, panicky feelings, and pain in the center of my back. I have been to the doctor numerous times thinking it was something to do with my heart but I am always told it is stress, muscle spams, heartburn, anxiety, or just air from not eating right. My dad has had a heart attack and I do have high blood pressure, my cholesterol is around 216 don’t know HDL to LDL, no diabetes, overweight but loosing weight and changing eating habits should I still be worried? I have had blood test done and EKG but all is good. If there is a problem with my heart can it be detected through blood tests or does it require special tests?

Depending on your age, you probably are not old enough to be high risk for heart disease. Males >45 and Females >55. Total cholesterol is a little high >200. Your symptoms would make you higher risk for heart attack, along with your family Hx. But w/o the age component you shouldn’t have much to worry about.

If there was a problem with your heart, they should have either heard extra sounds, or measured using the EKG. Usually to check for heart attacks, they run cardiac enyzmes. (CK-MB and TnT/I)
