Food That Help Heartburn

absolutely horrible heartburn….?
i am 38 weeks pregnant and i have THE WORST heartburn. like from the moment i wake up i have it, no matter what i eat. and i cant avoid all foods that cause heartburn, its not possible!!! and even if i try, if i just eat a bowl of cereal and some milk, i still get it so bad!!
my doctor told me tums and rolaids, well they help for about 5-10 minutes and then it just comes right back.
and oddly enough, most people say its worse when lying down, but i find its worse when sitting up for me, although it hurts no matter what.
any tips for relief?
some doctors say not to take rolaids but every single website says they are safe as tums and in fact are almost exactly the same as tums
i am surprised that your doctor would tell you that rolaids is ok to take. it isn’t ok to take during pregnancy. you can take over the counter acid controllers like pepcid. that is what i do, when tums doesn’t work. and it is perfectly fine to take. that is what my obgyn told me that i could do.
