Baking Soda For Heartburn Relief
Heartburn Help PLEASE!?
I'm 25 weeks today. The last three days have MAJOR burns stomach. Tums does not help, tried the teaspoon of baking soda in water. It is so bad I feel like I'm going have a heart attack. I have a daughter and never went through this with her! Is this normal or cause for concern and what can I do to get some sleep / Backup? I slept three hours in two days!
Have you tried Gaviscon liquid? Although I hate the stuff, I think it works better than antacid tablets like Tums and Rennies. In addition, I swear by renitadine (branded Zantac here in the United Kingdom) – this is very good and lasts until 12 hours, so it's great to get a good night! Other things that help are not eating for at least two hours before bedtime, avoid foods spicy and fatty and sleep leaning against an extra pillow or two. If none of this works, consult your doctor. There are other drugs available by prescription that can help. Renitadine is available at the counter of a pharmacy:)
